Being a young woman is a busy time, and we can use all the help we can get! Planning your meals at the beginning of the week will make your life so much easier and ensure that you buy the healthy ingredients you need to cook nutritious meals.
The weekend is a great time to do your grocery shopping because life is a little bit slower, take about 30 minutes of time before your shopping excursion to plan out meals and make a list of everything you will need. I like to research new meals for the week before I go shopping and a great place to start for this is Pinterest. From Pinterest you can become linked to countless healthy eating blogs and find all sorts of recipes that will make you excited to hit the kitchen in the evening.
For breakfast and lunch make sure you have ingredients for a few different meals you can alternate throughout the week. Some of my go-tos for breakfast are avocado toast, chia pudding, yogurt, and eggs. For lunch, smoothie bowls, hummus wraps, and even a classic sandwich are all good options. Having ample ingredients for simple breakfasts and lunches will help you to still eat healthy while you are running through your busy day.
Dinner is where there is lots of fun to be had. Look up new recipes to make and rely on some old classics. Make sure you are incorporating protein to rebuild your muscles after a long day, especially if you exercised, and load your plate up with veggies. Ground turkey and chicken breasts are great proteins to incorporate into your weekly shopping, and you can always mix it up with seafood and beans.
Planning my meals at the start of the week has saved me so much time and helped me stick to nutritious options, as well as avoiding eating out unnecessarily.
